King Me: Loving and Leading in a Wounding World

King Me is a great book that really helps guys understand who we are and whose we are. I bought a number of copies as I want to use this book as one of the guide books for our men’s ministry at our church.

King Me is a crucial book for men to understand where they are in a masculine journey we all undertake. It is critical to know your place in the journey, to understand yourself and how you impact the people and the world around you. In King Me, Thompson builds on the effort by John Eldredge and adds significant experience and detail to our understanding of the Masculine Journey. Only through this kind of understanding can we navigate through each phase in honor, strength and love and end well as an Elder-Sage. Whether you are a believer or not, we all go thru the stages. Why would you not want to understand that? I've given a copy of this book to the men in my life!

For many years, I've been on the journey of understanding of who God created me to be as a man, husband, and father. I've read and led men through many discussions and resources. I recently led two groups through King Me and found that men wanted to engage with the content and discuss how it influenced and will influence them and those in their life. The guys wanted to take the time to go deep, not just rush through King Me. Michael Thompson did a great job of compiling the information and sharing his story and those of others, which resonated with the men (and me). I highly recommend this for every man who wants to grow in faith and be on the journey of becoming who God created them to be. Even for those who don't have that conviction will grow from reading this book and reflecting on the many questions posed in it.

King Me is a timely, provocative, and important book for men of all ages. Michael Thompson gently and effectively guides the reader through a reflective process, helping them to understand who they are, and where they are, in God's kingdom. Throughout, he powerfully presents God's love for each and every man, inviting them into God's mission.

Michael's book brings forth excellent questions that men can ask of themselves about their own story in the masculine journey. Questions are one of the best diagnostic ways to explore and dig deeper to root issues and matters of the heart. Permission is not only granted but encouraged to discuss one's story. I hope many men will have the courage to discuss what is suggested in this book. As a woman, I gained a better understanding of the types of questions that boys and men ask.

Until reading this book I used to think all my thoughts came from me.

Michael has written a rich, practical and easy to read book to help anyone, man or woman become better. He and his team at Zoweh are the real deal. I heartily recommend King Me.

King Me has been a refreshing dive into the depths of the masculine journey. The author takes you through each stage of the masculine journey, where things may go off the rails, but then the hope in healing made available at each stage through the finished works of Jesus. The stories told, both personal and of others in his circles, help to give context and even make the content more relatable. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone, even to wives to help give them a good view into the hearts of their husband and even sons.

I cannot recommend this book more for everyone, men and women. Regardless of where you are in your faith, this book is a must. This is the third book from this author I have read and like the first 2, this book is absolutely changing my life for the better.
